Dear Colstrip Families,
Due to circumstances beyond our control, Colstrip Public Schools will be suspending all morning and afternoon bus routes effective October 1st, 2025. Until we are able to hire additional drivers, we will not be able to provide transportation.
This means that parents and guardians will be responsible for getting their children to and from school until further notice. Absences related to lack of transportation will not be considered exempt.
We understand this creates a significant hardship for many families and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, like many districts across Montana and the nation, we are experiencing a severe driver shortage.
We remain committed to restoring service as quickly as possible and will notify families immediately when new drivers are hired and routes can resume.
If your student has been a part of the one-route system, please call Britney Allen at Central Office to inquire about an Individual transportation contract.

Please review the attached schedule for your child’s pick-up and drop-off times and bus stop location. Remember Fridays PM route will be one hour earlier.
If your child’s regular stop is not listed, transportation will not be available during this time. For safety reasons, students may only board at their assigned stop, as seating is limited.
Please note that absences due to lack of transportation will not be considered exempt.

CHS Athletics Notice: While Talen Energy will not be sponsoring a tailgate party for this year’s Homecoming game, they will be sponsoring multiple sporting events through the year. We are grateful for their continued support of Colstrip High School athletics!
In place of the traditional tailgate feed, we are inviting local food trucks to set up in the lower parking lot of CHS on Friday, September 19th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, prior to the coronation (6:30 PM) and football game (7:00 PM). Our regular concession stand will be open during the game.

If you haven't applied for free or reduced meals, now is your time!! If your household was approved last year for free or reduced meals by an application you submitted, your status will carryover until Oct. 6th. After that you will go to a full paid status unless you fill out a new application. You can do this online through Infinite Campus. Scroll down to "MORE" and click on "MEAL BENEFITS". From there it will walk you through the application.
