In Montana, a recently enacted law (HB 719) requires voters to provide their date of birth, specifically the birth year, on the signature envelope when returning an absentee or mail ballot. This went into affect as of October 1, 2025. I have included a picture of what your return envelope will look like. The Election Administrator will verify your signature as well as your birth year. If you leave the birth year blank or do not sign your envelope, the Election Administrator will get ahold of you to validate your ballot. If you leave it blank and do not come in to fix it, your vote will unfortunately not count.
Reminder: Please provide the proper postage when mailing. If you wish to drop it off, Central Office is located in the lower parking lot of Colstrip High School - 5000 Pine Butte Drive - Door 24.
Please call Britney Allen at 406-748-4699 ext. 3403 if you have any questions.
