We have had so much going on this week.

Fourth graders in Mrs. Krieger’s and Mrs. Noser's classrooms got to enjoy a fun art project this week! Kayla De La Ossa and Gabby Nile with the Schoolhouse History and Art Center came in and taught a lesson on how to transfer an image. The students then outlined their images and made their bottle creations unique. Last, they used a fun technique with paint and salt to create a beautiful texture when dried. We appreciate SHAC and their willingness to always support art in our school!

Mrs Nikki’s 2nd grade started their informational writing by creating their own stores and informing you what you could purchase at their store.

PBES does a school wide geography project a few times a year.  Since the Chinese New year is next week, we have focused our study on China and the Chinese new year.  Classes started out with videos about the celebrations and traditions and then branched into more specific research.   Classes were asked to create a door display that showed 4 or more facts they learned, a map of some sort, writing, and something about the year of the horse.   Classes were very creative with their displays.  Judges from the community came in to judge doors and give feedback.  Thank you Nola and Gary Parry and Amy Pontius for judging.  The winners will be announced next week. mus

The CHS Art and Pottery class paid a visit to our kindergarten classes over the last two weeks.  This was such a great collaboration between our youngest and oldest kids.  The kinder kids were so excited to use clay and design a sea monster with the art students. The art student interviewed the kids and will paint the monster before it’s fired and return it with a story.   pms
