Tattoo the Teacher(s)!
This week the Student Council sponsored a fundraiser called Tattoo the Teacher. We raised a total of $487. The money raised goes towards purchases for the students at Pine Butte. The kids had a blast. Miss Nikki’s class purchased the most tattoos and get to tat Mr. Bailey on Monday. Stay tuned for incoming principal photos next week.

The teachers were great sports and had fun showing off all their tattoos to the kids who purchased them.
Our 5th-grade class had an incredible presentation from our school volunteer, Kristy Bick. Kristy is a retired teacher who has taught students from kindergarten through college and also holds a degree in aerospace education. She shared her fascinating experiences as one of Montana’s top finalists for the Challenger Space Expedition. Although she was not selected in the end, that opportunity opened the door for her to work on many projects with NASA.
Since the 5th-grade has a standard about studying space, Kristy visited our class to teach students about the solar system and share stories from her time working with NASA. She was even part of the first group to see pictures of Saturn and brought those images to share with the class. The students asked thoughtful and amazing questions throughout her presentation.
To finish, Kristy showed the class a pop can that had once been used in space, as well as a piece from one of the first space shuttles. The students were amazed to have the chance to see and touch these incredible items. It was a memorable experience for everyone!
