We had a great week at PBES this week! We started out with Field Day! A favorite for everyone. Mrs. Baer does an amazing job setting up fun stations for the day. Check out some of our action shots. 
We also had many field trips happening.
On Wednesday, the 4th graders travelled to Miles City to the Range Riders Museum. They explored all of the different exhibits and were very excited to see a lot of artifacts that they learned about in Montana History this year displayed in the museum. Some favorites included the homesteading era displays and farm tools, the replicated main street of a town from the 1800s, the Milwaukee Railroad display, the prehistoric mammoth bones, the Native American history displays, and the weapons of the 1800s and early 1900s. They also got to see an iron lung, which they learned about at the beginning of the year when studying their personal narrative unit in reading. They read personal narratives about people who experienced polio. so that was a fun surprise for them to see one in real life. Overall, they had a great time!
Fifth grade went to Castle Rock Lake for their fishing day field trip. The event is organized by Fish, Wildlife, and Parks. The students start the event with stations and learn about casting, fish identification, water safety, hypothermia, and Castle Rock Lake's history. They then enjoyed lunch and an afternoon of fishing!
Our second graders got to go on a fun trip to the public library and SHAC to participate in some great learning and crafts.
Our kindergarteners went to the public library to do some learning about space. They listened to a story and made some astronauts. they also got to participate in a scavenger hunt around the library. After the library they went to Rye park and enjoyed lunch, sunshine and of course ice cream. 
Our first graders even got in on the action. They went swimming and went to the park for lunch and some ice cream. 
To end our week at PBES we had the Grad Walk! All the seniors get to come back and walk the elementary school one last time on their way out of school. 
It was a busy week!
