Colstrip School District 19 -

CHS Registration Days are Wednesday, August 11th and Thursday, August 12th. CHS wants to get schedules out to students and make schedule changes prior to the start of school. Registration Day Schedule: Wednesday: 8/11 - 8:30 am - 11:30 for Seniors, 12:30 - 3:30 for Juniors Thursday: 8/12 - 8:30 am - 11:30 for Sophomores, 12:30 - 3:30 for Freshmen You will get your schedules and locker assignments. Feel free to bring your school supplies for your lockers. You can go over your class schedules and make changes. All schedule changes are due to Mrs. Davenport by 4:00 pm. on Wednesday, 8/18. If you can't attend the registration day on your assigned time, that is "ok". Stop by and pick up your schedule on another day.

IMPACT TESTING FOR FBMS & CHS ATHLETES IS TAKING PLACE NOW AT CHS FOR ALL 6th GRADERS, 8th GRADERS, 10th GRADERS, 12th GRADERS AND ANY STUDENT NEW TO THE DISTRICT FROM 9am-3pm TODAY THROUGH THURSDAY!

PBES staff: There is a Successmaker training for the math and reading portions of the program and the new interface will be revealed! This training is August 11th in the FBMS cafeteria beginning at 8:00 and ending at 3:00.

Atlas Training on August 10th for all teachers and administrators in the FBMS cafeteria. Starts at 8:00 am and goes until 3:00 pm. There will be a live trainer from the company to educate staff on the development of curriculum units.

SUPERINTENDENT REMINDER: The first day of school is Thursday, August 19, 2021. It will be a full day of school. Friday, August 21, 2020 will be a partial day of school. This work session of the Board will be held in person at the Colstrip High School Library.

SUPERINTENDENT UPDATE: SCHOOL SAFETY AND RETURN TO SCHOOL: This is a reminder that District is following the Safe Return to School Plan located on the School Website at: https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/1344622/CPS_Safe_Return_to_Schools_and_Continuity_of_Services_Plan_5.28.21__2_.pdf The District is currently in Phase III (based on guidance and recommendations from the Governor, Local Health Department, and Montana Office of Public Instruction). We are anticipating school opening August 19, 2021, as planned, with the following measures in place: ● Food services provided on site for all students ● Transportation is provided ● Students rotate through schedules and routines as normal ● Parental involvement in health screening required prior to school entry ● Health screening and hand sanitizing upon entry when feasible ● Hand-washing and germ transmission prevention pro-actively taught and frequently encouraged ● Frequent sanitizing of physical space and equipment ● Face coverings are at discretion of each individual ● Public access to schools available ● Primary delivery of instruction and learning will be on-site with traditional schedules ● The Blended Learning Model will transition back to on-site instruction. ● Field trips allowed ● Mass gatherings allowed ● Student or staff related travel allowed ● School activities and school-related travel resume

TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More), On June 29, 2021, I just learned that our District was awarded National Systems Accreditation through Cognia, formerly AdvancED. I just want to thank everyone for the hard work they put in this last COVID year and took on an internal and external accreditation review to boot. You guys are AWESOME! We did it again! Congratulations everyone, Colstrip is one of the few school districts in Montana to achieve system accreditation (K-12). All of our hard work paid off.
